Have you ever spilled red wine on your couch of choice? We’ve all done it. “How am I going fix this?” Upholstery cleaning in northern beaches is now a quest on par with the most heroic of tales. With a few odd tricks and some elbow grease, you can make your sofa look like new check my site.
Let’s start with the most infamous stain: red wine. It’s not necessary to use a magic potion. Just some white vinegar and salt will do. Use a clean cloth to dab at the stain and absorb as much as possible. Sprinkle generously with salt over the patch of wet fabric and allow it to sit for 10 minutes. Salt pulls wine from the fabric, like a vampire sucking its prey. Mix one part vinegar with two parts water. Do not rub the mixture, but dab it on the spot.
We also have to deal with grease stains. Potato chips and couches aren’t best friends. Baking soda or cornstarch will help you remove these oil-based stains. Sprinkle the cornstarch or baking soda over the grease and let it do its magic for about 30 minutes. Then vacuum it up. Dish soap and warm water on a soft cloth should be enough to remove stubborn stains.
The ink stain is another common scenario. Your couch now looks like an art class gone awry because you fell asleep with a pen open. You’re best to use rubbing alcohol. Use rubbing alcohol to dampen a soft cloth and gently wipe the stain. As you watch, the ink will disappear. Remember to be gentle when you are working with fabric.
